Maserati GranTurismo MC

Dec 12, 2019 | NAVIS December 2019 / January 2020

It’s one of the most stylish and iconic of the grand tourers available, and for those who would prefer to drive a long distance in a supercar rather than fly, then the Maserati GranTurismo MC is for you.

Along with impressive comfort levels, the handling is superb, and there’s a long list of personalization options available.

Without a doubt, it’s a stunning creation, both inside and out, with an engine that is packed with power and character.

While the Maserati GranTurismo MC (Maserati Corse) may be lacking driver assistance technology when compared with its rivals, that doesn’t detract from the fun and enjoyment when sat behind the steering wheel.

This is a four-seat coupe with space for four adults, and it’s a great rival to the likes of the Bentley Continental GT. The car is a Maserati design classic with a stylish front end and muscular rear.

The iconic car delivers years of Maserati tradition, and this is a brilliant grand tourer with the styling from Pininfarina, the styling studio, to deliver timeless elegance with sweeping lines that will win admiring glances.

Maserati Granturismo MC 2019 Review

There’s only one choice of engine, but it’s a superlative Ferrari-sourced 4.7-liter V8 petrol engine that delivers 454 HP. This output offers a 0-62 mph sprint time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 187mph.

To help deliver this power, the six-speed automatic transmission offers slick performance, and when putting the car through its paces, it is a very impressive piece of equipment. The column-mounted gearshift paddles work well with the gearbox – especially when you need to kick down for a surge in power to overtake.

The engine delivers a growl at low speeds, a gurgle when sprinting, and the unmistakeable guttural howl when you push the engine to its limits. It’s this sound that has entranced Maserati fans the world over.

Drivers also have an 8.4-inch touchscreen for the multimedia system and fitted as standard is the latest Harman Kardon audio system delivering a crisp, quality sound.

With so much power onboard, the safety equipment includes a stability control system, and should the vehicle detect a skid; then it will hold back the engine’s performance. The system also steps in when the chassis’ limits are put to the test.

There are six airbags, including side airbags that are attached to the front seat, along with a tyre pressure monitoring system and a rear-view parking camera.
