Benetti 63m 11.11

Jun 29, 2016 | NAVIS June / July 2016

Benetti Motor Yacht 11.11: A Transformative Tale

The Benetti Motor Yacht 11.11 boasts a most distinctive profile, leading with a dramatic vertical bow that drops a plumb line directly to the sea. Her elongated foredeck does not give a thought to superstructure until approaching amidships. Once 11.11 makes the commitment, however, the design displays a graceful wavelike sweep of curved glazing, suggesting elegant motion.

Those are all elements of the yacht that were put into play before the owner of FB265 took over from the original owner — the one who walked away from the project just ten months from delivery, with the yacht just under half fit out. The new owner, however, deciding to take the project on, transformed the challenge to his stunning advantage, redirecting the initial vision to become his family’s home at sea. Considering the opportunity as an incredible stroke of luck that offered a dramatically shortened timeline, he dovetailed the yacht’s finer points with a long list of additional features, turning FB265 into the beautiful 11.11.

Technical Specifications

Stem to stern, 11.11 measures 206.69 feet/63 meters, with an exceptional beam of 35 feet/10.8 meters. The vertical axe bow cuts quickly through the water, contributing to smooth, stable seakeeping. The simple lines of the muscular build are softened by the curves embraced in the superstructure and glazing, harmoniously welcoming the art deco style of the interior.

Her twin Caterpillar 3512 C main engines drive two Detra propellers with high efficiency and low pressure transmission from the five skew fixed blades. 11.11 cruises easily at 16 knots, running a 5,000 nm range, pushing to 17 knots when prompted. Noise and vibration are handled effectively, quieting both the master and VIP cabins to 44.7 and 47.1 DBA respectively.

The Benetti in-house team is responsible for the naval architecture and engineering, creating the second vertical bow yacht in Benetti history. The premier builder for yachts over 24 meters, their various yards and specialties position them well to create custom designs with innovative features like those exhibited by 11.11.

The Sun Deck

A very sociable space at the top of the yacht, the sun deck offers gathering places fore and aft, delivering 15 meters of deck space, sunbathing, wining, and dining. In the aft area, a sandblasted Italian stone bar, carved with a fluted motif, serves guests in fitted, curved seating and around two posh L-shaped sofas. A spa-inspired pool with sun pads offers a gorgeous view off the stern. Forward, a protected lounge area with curved seating provides another stunning, 180° view across the bow.
